Rocket Farms has been awarded the nationally-recognized Minority Business Enterprise certification by the Northern California Minority Supplier Development Council (NCMSDC). To receive certification from the NCMSDC (www.ncmsdc.org) a company must be 51% ethnic-minority owned, operated and controlled by a U.S. citizen.
Owners Sergio Silva and Charles Kosmont have been with Rocket Farms since its parent company’s inception in 1982, and currently serve as the company’s President and CEO, respectively. “We are excited about Rocket Farms receiving its NCMSDC Minority Business Enterprise Certification and the opportunities it presents for our company”, said Mr. Silva.
Rocket Farms is the fourth largest greenhouse grower in the country with 5.5 million square feet of greenhouse growing space, including 100 acres of 100% organic certified production. Rocket Farms produces four central product lines: orchids, culinary herbs, vegetable plants and poinsettias, as well as several varietals. Rocket Farms is dedicated to sustainable operations and innovation, constantly working with breeders around the world to introduce new plant varietals into the market.
The NCMSDC is a non-profit organization with the vision of promoting and advancing minority supplier development by being the premier organization for minority business inclusion in Northern California and Hawaii.
